Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Caldwell, 90, 135 Leach Road, Johnson City, TN died Monday, April 3, 2006 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Valle Crucis, NC she was the daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Farthing Baird. She had been a waitress and a cook and was a homemaker and a loving mother. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Victor Caldwell, a son, Charles Victor Caldwell Jr.; a granddaughter, Sonia Elizabeth Chase; four brothers, Robert Baird, Carl Baird, Byran Baird and Fred Baird and two sisters, Ruth Greenwell and Addie Mast. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Janie Caldwell, Milligan College, TN; a daughter, Shirley Ruth Hemphill, Gainesville, GA; give grandchildren, Vance Alan Chase, DeDe Forrester, Jodi Branyon, Jennifer Caldwell and Ashley Caldwell and nine great-grandchildren, Chelsea Chase, Christin Forrester, Will Chase, Carlie Forrester, Chase Forrester, Cara Beth Branyon, Davis Branyon, Cade Chase and Sean Branyon. Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Caldwell will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 6, 2006 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Kyker officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in Monte Vista Burial Park
