PRAIRIE DU SAC - Dorothy A. Anderson, age 75, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, December 15, 1999. She was born in Plain on June 5, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Beer) Wankerl. Dorothy was a member of St. Aloysius Church, The C.C.W., St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Homemakers and a Quilting Group. Survivors include six children, Philip Unger of Prairie du Sac, Bill (Linda) Unger of Oregon, Robert (Anita) Unger of Sauk City, June Lemm of Stevens Point, Eugene (Sandy) Unger of Sauk City and Martin (Barbara) Unger of Sauk City; four step-children, Dixie Anderson of Baraboo, William Anderson Jr. of Prairie du Sac, Kevin (Mary) Anderson of Prairie du Sac, and Allen (Louise) Anderson of Middleton; four brothers, Ed Wankerl of Green Bay, Joe (Lucille) Wankerl of Plain, Louie Wankerl and Tony (Lorraine) Wankerl both of; Sauk City; four sisters, Florence (Jerry) Durst of Keysville, Marie Vogt of Baraboo, Rose Ruhland of Plain and Delores (Chuck) Sunder of Wayzata, Minnesota; ten grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Robert Unger and William Anderson; and a brother, John Wankerl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 1999 with Father William Seipp and Father Gary Wankerl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 1999 at GNEWIKOW-HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME where the Council of Catholic Women will lead the Rosary at 3:00 p.m., She will be deeply missed by her family and others whom were touched by her kindness.
