Earl R. Frampton, 37, of Eden, who devoted much of his life to helping others with kidney disease, died Tuesday (Sept. 17, 1996) in his home after his own long struggle against kidney disease.

Frampton, a 20-year dialysis patient at the Artificial Kidney Center in Buffalo, was a volunteer for the Independent Living Center and a member of the National Kidney Foundation of Western New York.

He had extensive training as an AFL-CIO union counselor and personally helped many people through a network of human service agencies in Western New York.

As a patient representative at the Artificial Kidney Center, Frampton helped other patients cope with dialysis. He wrote poems and stories about his life experiences, many of which appeared in the National Kidney Foundation magazine.

Surviving are his parents, Earl A. and Jeanne P. of Eden; two sisters, Lisa E. Dobson of Clarence and Lorraine M. of Eden; and a brother, Eric A. of Williamsburg, Va.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Church, 8791 S. Main St., Eden.

Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst.
