After serving in the U.S. Army Ben bought a farm in Prince George County and went to work for Stone Container as a machine operator for 39 years. His real love was working on his farm, riding his tractor, cutting hay and raising cattle. Ben was also a great horseman, loved gardening and was a wonderful family man. He was preceded in death by his sons, Brad Nicely and Patrick Revere and his loving wife Linda Lee Nicely.
He is survived by his children, Jerry Nicely and his wife, Donna, Willie Nicely and his wife, Diana, Dixie Favale and her husband, Ernie, Andrew Nicely and his wife, Sherry, and Sandy Martinez; daughter-in-law, Alice Revere; grandchildren, Rachel, Shane, Loren, Branden, R.J., Aliea, Torrie, Dante, Jessica, Megan, William, Seth, and Silas; great-grandchildren, Blake and Elisha.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
