Abbott Sr.

Robert C. Abbott Sr., 96, passed away on March 20, 2018. He was born November 12, 1921 in Coventry and graduated from Coventry High School. He attended The University of Akron and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Bob was an avid sportsman who loved traveling, camping and marksmanship. He was a skilled woodworker and gunsmith who had a number of patents to his name. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace and was a member of Wintergreen Ledges Church of God.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 49 years, Mildred; daughter, Nancy E. Hatula; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Abbott. He is survived by his son, Robert C. Abbott Jr.; grandchildren, Rick Abbott, Renee Abbott, Kim (Michael) Kachur, Kelly (Steven) Espy, and James (Janice) Hatula; and great-grandchildren, Kory, Kaleb, Sydney, Samuel, Kyler, Samantha, Hope, Luke; and best friend, Almaruth Zirkle.

Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home 3326 Manchester Rd. on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Pastor Jim Roma officiating. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Native America Rights Fund (www.narf.org/donate) in memory of Bob.
