John Daus, Two Guys Aide, Dies
John W. Daus, 51, of 245 7th Ave., died Sunday at the Albany Veterans Hospital after a long illness.
Born in North Troy, he had resided in the city all his life. He ws a communicant of St. Augustine's Church and a member of the Ushers Association and Holy Name Society.
Mr. Daus was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and was employed at Two Guys, Menands, where he was in charge of the men's furnishings department. He had worked with the store since it opened about six years ago. He was a veteran of World War II where he was a sergeant in the Corps of Engineers.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy; four sons, Gerald, Thomas, Stephen and Jay; his mother, Mrs. Nora Moylan Daus; three sisters, Mrs. Lewis Walter Sr., Mrs. Raymond Kenston and Mrs. Robert Hastings, and two brothers, Frederick Daus and William Daus, all of Troy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 am from the William A. Touhey Funeral Home, 114th Street and Second Avenue, and at 10 am from St. Augustine's Church where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
