Hazel Bradley Abernathy Farmer, age 93, of Valley Falls, SC passed away on March 22, 2018.

Born September 3, 1924, in Spartanburg County, SC and was a resident of Valley Falls Terrace; foster daughter of the late Paul C Rainey (1902–1977) and Mentie Skinner Rainey (1902–1977); biological daughter of Robert R "Dock" Bradley (1890–1927) and Venia Belcher Bradley (1891–1939); widow of Woodrow Lee Abernathy (1924–1991) for 50 years, and her second husband, Eugene Farmer (1912–2001).

A member of Inman Mills Baptist Church, where she served for several years as a Sunday School Teacher. A loving mother and grandmother who will be remembered for loving everyone and her kind words.

Her family wishes to remember her foster parents for providing a loving home and teaching her to love God and always loving her and supporting her as long as they lived.

Mrs. Farmer loved to read the bible and write short stories about her life and family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, James "Jim" Abernathy (Wanda); daughter, Carolyn Tucker (Ricky); and three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Also predeceased by a grandson, Preston Abernathy; and sisters, Della Bradley, Rosa Ella Bradley Poteat (1910–2004), Blanche Bradley Estes (1915-2003), Pauline Bradley Ramantanin (1918–2017), and Lula Mae Bradley Huntley (1919–2011).

The family received friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Seawright Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Inman Mills Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Hames officiating; burial in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
