Lorraine Pratt DeMartino, born in New Orleans, LA to Jeff and Minnie Nichols, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the age of 85 after a brief illness.

Her pursuit of knowledge never waned, having received a bachelor's degree at BYU and a doctorate in education at NAU. Her gift and passion for teaching was apparent throughout more than 40 years as an English teacher and a teacher in various auxiliaries in the LDS Church.

She was a self-taught and accomplished pianist and organist who played for congregations and choirs since childhood.

She was preceded in death by devoted husbands Emron M. Pratt and William T. DeMartino. She leaves behind a posterity of 6 children, 31 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, as well as 2 beloved stepchildren, 4 stepgrandchildren, and 1 stepgreat-grandchild.
