After a long and valiant battle with liver cancer, Robert Cannon Pollei passed away restfully March 12, 2018. Robert was third in line of four boys, born April 19, 1939 to Eric Charles Pollei and Emily Cannon Pollei. He was raised in the family home on 76 S Street and attended Bryant Jr. High, East High School, and the University of Utah. Robert had a very long and wonderful career working at Western Airlines which later merged with Delta Airlines. Fellow workers and friends at the airport expressed fond feelings for him. He was a true people person, and his infectious smile and cheerful demeanor endeared you to him. His good nature, kindness and generosity set him apart from the average person. He enjoyed being part of and participating in the world-famous Gina Bachauer piano competition and recital events. Robert enjoyed traveling with his brother Eric to various places in Utah and abroad. He loved to travel to Hawaii and Paris which were his two favorite travel havens. He enjoyed riding his BMW motorcycle and eating and touring with the BMW Club. He thrived in meeting with his fellow Delta friends at restaurants around the Salt Lake valley. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Eric and Paul Pollei. He is survived by his brother David (Mary Ann), Janet Pollei, Eric's wife, sons Scott and Stephen Pollei (Kim), and granddaughter Emma Pollei. Robert's two sons were born in Salt Lake City when he was married to Sandy Brewington. Robert was cremated on March 19, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
