Theresa A. Knipfer

NEW AUBURN — Theresa A. Knipfer, age 94, passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, at Legacy Gardens in Madison, where she spent the last five years of her life in their loving care. Theresa (Tess) was born September 15, 1912, in the town of Sampson to Ivory and Martha (McCann) Cole. She married Bryon Knipfer on April 12, 1930, in Bloomer.

She was known most for her unconditional love of her family and friends. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was kind, loving and a wonderful mother. Theresa's family and God were the most important things in her life. She loved to read, especially her Bible, and was an avid card player to the end. Legacy Gardens was a great comfort to her and her family. She will be missed by many, but most of all her family of whom she was so proud.

She is survived by four children, Delmer (Ellie) Knipfer of Urbana Ill., Carol (Mac) McClatchey of Madison, Lee (Brenda) Knipfer of Tulsa, Okla., and Linda (Richard) Gibson of New Auburn; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bryon; one son, Ronald; five brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. Interment will be in the New Auburn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
