Albert Ernest Weatherburn 10/1/1942 - 2/4/2018
Albert Ernest Weatherburn, II, of Anderson, passed away on February 4, 2018 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. He was 75 years old. He was born October 1, 1942 in Ferndale, MI to the late Albert Weatherburn, Sr. and Lorraine (Courser). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine Brown, his brothers, Greg Weatherburn and Carl Weatherburn.
Al was born in and grew up in Michigan. Al moved to Anderson after graduating in 1961, where he met and fell in love with Sandra Cottingham, whom he later married on November 10, 1963. He worked as a parts manager at several different dealerships and also worked as a salesman at Dovey Corporation. He enjoyed metal detecting and camping with his family and good friends, Larry and Diane Smith. He was also a Boy Scout troop leader for many years. He had a special place in his heart for his two granddaughters Megan and Makena who he loved so very much. He spent every available minute with them working puzzles on his iPad, playing games and watching movies. He had a passion for genealogy and spent a great amount of time researching and documenting the history of his family. This was very important to him. Later in life, he discovered geocaching with his son-in-law, Jim, where they would spend most of their weekends for many years searching all over the world looking for their next cache. One of Al's proudest moments happened on September 28, 2010, where Al was admitted a Freeman of the Town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Scotland for being the eldest grandson of Robert Weatherburn, who himself was admitted a Freeman on December 23, 1895. Al was very proud of his Scottish heritage.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Sandra; his daughter, Jennifer Lynn
Weatherburn-Thiemet and his son-in-law, Jim Thiemet of Anderson; two granddaughters, Megan Riley Thiemet and Makena Rose Thiemet; his two sisters, Marsha (Dave) Mingee and Cindy (Doug) Arnold; brothers, King and Roger Wilson along with extended family, Larry, Stephen, Cheryl and Sheri.

Sandra and the family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Brian Eddy and to the staff of St. Vincent's Anderson Regional Hospital. Viewing will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 10 to noon with the funeral at noon officiated by Pastor Dan St. Claire.
