Margaret Evelyn Raleigh (nee Hill), age 92, of Emory, Virginia, passed away Saturday March 17, 2018, in Abingdon, Virginia. She was born on February 5, 1926, in Washington County, Virginia to the late Emory Victor Hill and Margaret Gollehon Hill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hagy Raleigh, brothers, Tatum, Earl, Howard, Kenneth "Yost", Estes, Emory, and Kelly Hill and her sisters, Elizabeth Scott "Sis" and Ruth Coltrane. Margaret was a graduate of Meadowview High School and Mary Dalton Secretarial School. She spent most of her career in banking. She lived in Marion, Virginia, and Virginia Beach, Virginia, before retiring to Emory, Virginia. She enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and Mahjong. She was also a member of Emory United Methodist Church. Margaret is survived by a sister-in-law, Aloa Hill; three nephews; 16 nieces, and a large extended family. The family would like to thank Abingdon Health and Rehab for their kindness and care. The family would also like to say a special thank you to Beverly Evans, caregiver, for the kind, loving, and devoted care she gave to Margaret. The family will receive friends on the afternoon of Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Hill home in Emory, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Margaret to the Emory United Methodist Church P.O. Box, 985 Emory, VA. 24327. Per Margaret's request, memorial services will be private.
