FORMER RESIDENT OF SCRIBA DIES

Clarence Carr, 75, Struck By Automobile In North Syracuse.

SCRIBA STATE ROAD, June 23—Clarence Carr, 70, native of Scriba and many years a farmer in this section, was injured fatally Wednesday when struck by an automobile while crossing the state highway near his home in North Syracuse. He died in St. Joseph's hospital, Syracuse, three hours later. Death was attributed to a fractured skull.

Mr. Carr left farming here to go to Oregon from where he returned about 20 years ago. He was formerly engaged as a carpenter and since his retirement had spent winters in Florida.

He had lived in North Syracuse about ten years. His first wife was the late Miss Amelia Fox, sister of Mrs. Frank Gurney, Scriba state road. Following her death ten years ago in Florida Mr. Carr married again eight yaars ago and his wife, Mrs. Phoeze Carr, survives. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Sarah Hammond, Albany, several nieces and nephews in Lycoming and three nieces in Oswego.

The auto which struck Mr. Carr was driven by Frederick M. Fletcher, 1711 South State street, Syracuse. Mr. Fletcher told troopers Carr walked into the side of the machine.

Services will be conducted at the Strobeck-Sears undertaking rooms, Syracuse, at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. George Pasche, retired, officiating, assisted by Rev. Charles N. Ouderkirk, pastor of Andrews Memorial church.

Burial will be in North Syracuse cemetery
