WW2 Veteran. Motor Machinist Mate 3rd Class, USNR 313-89-15, South Pacific - May/June 1944 San Francisco, California to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. July/Sept 1944 Eniwetok, Marshal Islands. Oct. 1944 thru May 1945 Ulithi Atol, Carolina Islands. May 1945 thru Jan. 1946 San Pedro Bay, Leyte Gulf, Philippines. Feb/April 1946 Guiuan, Samar, Philippines. Military Discharge April 26, 1946. From April 1946 to June 1947 Bill worked at Electromaster Inc. in Detroit, Michigan. In June 1947 Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was given the Rank of Sergeant. In 1954 TSGT William Schwartz was attached to 97th Fighter Intercept Squadron and reclassified from Senior Aircraft Jet Engine Mechanic to an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. In 1956 he was attached to the 327th Fighter Squadron out of Madison, Wisconsin as a Crew Chief. July 1956 reassigned to the 86th Fighter Interceptor Wing in Spangdahlem, Germany. In the 1960s, he was attached to Johnson Airfoce Base in Tokyo, Japan. He retired from the Airforce in 1966.
