Jake was born to Heyward D. and Letha (Cato) Knight in SC. Served in the Navy's WWII Pacific fleet on the Waxsaw. He married Peggy Joan Eager in Marion OH. They had 3 children, John Heyward, Peggy Lee, & Cindy Rae. Mr Knight lost his wife to lung cancer in 1966 and lost his own battle with lung cancer at the V.A. Hospital in Dayton OH. in 1986. His 4th wife, Eursel (Brady) Knight was first married to Loren Rush. She and Loren had a daughter Judy. Eursel died in 2020.
