Sydney K. Mills, 12, of Clay Hill Road, Greencastle, PA, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 in Children’s National Medical Center, Washington D.C, following a brief illness.

Born March 9, 2006 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of Dwayne A. “Andy” Mills of Hagerstown and Sara J. (Boyce) Monn of Greencastle.

Sydney was currently a sixth-grade student at Greencastle Antrim Middle School.

She was a member of West End Baptist Church in Hagerstown, MD and God’s Angels Youth Group at Greencastle Presbyterian Church.

Sydney loved horses, especially her horse Heidi. She also enjoyed baking and being with her friends.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her step-father, Tim Monn; one sister, Jessica Mills of Mercersburg, PA; four brothers, Joshua Mills of Hagerstown, Ryan Mills of York, PA and Micah Mills and Noah Mills, both of Greencastle; her step-brother, Devin Monn of Waynesboro; maternal grandmother, Donna Boyce of Waynesboro; paternal grandparents, Richard and Ruth Mills of Clear Spring, MD; step-grandmother, Betty Walsnovich of Greencastle; step-grandparents, William and Delores Monn of Greencastle; her many friends, including her best friend, Abby Hoover; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sydney was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Thomas Boyce; and paternal step-grandmother, Mary Jane Monn.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Friday, April 6, 2018, in West End Baptist Chapel, 101 Buena Vista Avenue | Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Shane Wilt officiating. Burial will be private in Quincy Cemetery, Quincy, PA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday evening, in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Star Equestrian Center, 13674 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
