JOYCE ELLEN PULTS BRINK SCHROEDER MCCARTY Joyce McCarty died March 29, 2018. The daughter of Henry and Ethelyne Pults, she was born December 29, 1934. Joyce married John Jackson Brink June 9, 1957. The couple had three children. After Jack's death, she married Doyal Schroeder Nov. 21, 1973. Doyal died in 1996. Joyce met Ed McCarty after moving to Kansas City in 1997. They married Jan. 2, 1999. Besides being a public school vocal and elementary teacher for 26 years, Joyce taught piano for 47 years. She was a licensed Kansas funeral director, a PEO member for more than 60 years and active in Blue Valley Baptist Church. Joyce's survivors include her children, Susan Parker (Marshall), Overland Park; John Thomas Brink (Mindy), Brighton, CO; and Philip Brink (Suzanne), Erie, CO; four stepchildren, Richard Schroeder, St. Joseph, MO; Christine Montalvo (Hector), Fort Mills, S.C.; Tammy Culver (David), Merriam; Tim McCarty (Tracy), Merriam; a foster son, Randy Cottingham (Caroline), San Antonio, TX; and 25 grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and foster grandchildren. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Blue Valley Baptist Church (Ridgeview campus, 1325 S. Ridgeview) in Olathe, KS. The service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Horton Cemetery, Horton, KS.
