Born in Scotland (Firth of Feey) on 3 April 1823
Died: 20 March 1909 in Oil City, Venango, Pennsylvania
Isabella MacKenzie was the daughter of KENIS MacKENZIE and KITTIE McCARRAH. She was born in Scotland. She married a man named DUNCAN McDONALD in Scotland and had a baby daughter she named 'Mary Ann'.
Isabella and her husband were hired by a man in Canada named JOHN M. CAMPBELL, to work as a hired hand and a housekeeper. The family immigrated from Scotland to Ontario, Canada with their infant daughter Mary McDonald. Isabella's husband passed away before the couple arrived in Canada; and Isabella was worried that the Canadian man, JOHN CAMPBELL would not hire her alone.
Mr. Campbell, a widower himself, did indeed hire Isabella to care for his children. Eventually, Mr. Campbell married Isabella and the couple went on to have two children together ... KATE CAMPBELL and JAMES M. CAMPBELL.
Mr. Campbell and his older sons decided to move to the province of Alberta to follow the teachings of the Morman Church. Isabella would have no part of plural marriage, and did not follow along. She remained in Ontario with her children, Mary Ann, Kate and James Campbell.
Isabella's daughter Mary Ann [Campbell] married a man named Tom Winskill. When Mary and Tom Winskill moved to Pennsylvania, mother Isabella Campbell accompanied them. Her son James did not follow them and moved to South Dakota.
Isabella Campbell died of arteriosclerosis, asthma and asthenia of old age after a couple of days in the hospital.
She was buried in Groves Hill Cemetery on the 26th of March, 1909.
Died at: 85 years 11 months 17 days
