Beneranda L. "Bennie" Bales Brenner, 82, of Montpelier, IN, (Washington Twp.) passed away at 2:05 AM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton, IN. She was born on Wednesday, February 28, 1940, in Kendallville, IN. She had formerly lived in Jackson Twp. Wells Co. Bennie attended Jackson Center High School and was a 1958 graduate of Warren High School. She married Charles "Charlie" Bales on August 2, 1969. She was a member of the St. Margaret's Catholic Church, Montpelier, until its closing and was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hartford City. Bennie had worked for The Posey Room & video store, The Old Brick House restaurant, Ledbetter's Grocery IGA, Ferguson Canning, BRC, Oswalt Dairy Queen, and Dacra Glass. She was a former Blackford Co. 4-H leader and on the Blackford Co. 4-H council. She was a member of the Alter & Rosary Society. Above all Bennie loved being a mother and grandmother.

She will be sadly missed by her Daughters - Barbara (Ken) Schomber, Keystone, IN, Bernadette (Gary) Elkins, Montpelier, IN, Brandi (Shane) Reynolds, Hartford City, IN, Brother - Alden "Pete" Schlotter, Avon Park, FL, Grandchildren - Bailey Elkins, Broken Bow, OK, Brandon (Elise) Schomber, Montpelier, IN, Bennett Schomber, Keystone, IN, Brianna Elkins, Montpelier, IN, Bethany Elkins, Montpelier, IN, Blayden Schomber, Keystone, IN, Great Grandchild - Izzabella Morgan, Montpelier, IN, Sister-in-law - Shirley McKeever, Montpelier, IN, Caregiver - Lori Elliott, Montpelier, IN, and several Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father - Victor Hugo Schlotter, Mother - Berdena Belle (Good) Schlotter, 1st Husband - Charles L. Bales, 2nd Husband - John F. Brenner, Sr., Brother - Larry Schlotter, Grandson - Bryceon Schomber, and Nephews- Bary Schlotter & Jay Schlotter.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home on Monday, August 8, 2022.

A service to celebrate Bennie's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 6:00 PM on Monday, August 8, 2022 with Father Kevin Hurley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Bales family mausoleum in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.

Preferred memorials: Blackford Co. 4-H Fair Board (New Barn)
