Rosa Rachel Mielke, born on April 10, 1946, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend joined the angels on March 31, 2018. Born and raised in Yuma, Arizona, Rosa graduated from Yuma High School in 1965 and graduated from Yuma School of Beauty in 1966. Soon after, Rosa married (Jose Guerra) and had 5 daughters.

She owned and operated her own salon, Rosa & Company, and was a hairdresser for over 50 years. After her second husband's (Jack Mielke) passing, Rosa took over ownership of Jack & Rosie's Restaurant for nearly 20 years. There, she was known for creating a welcoming environment for many. Because of this, Rosa found another passion for bettering the community as a founding member of the Yuma Neighborhood Development Organization providing low income housing to the Carver Park Area, and also served on the City Board of Planning and Zoning. She was an active Catholic and an avid church and board member of St. Thomas Mission in Winterhaven, California.
She will be remembered for her passion for gardening and all types of art. She lived life to the fullest every day. She loved to socialize with friends and family, and was always the first person on the dance floor, never without her high heels. She brought smiles to all who knew her.

Rosa is preceded in death by her sister, Elvira Zapata; her brother Gregorio Zapata Jr.; her father, Gregorio Zapata; and her mother, Felicitas Zapata.

She is survived by her siblings: Martha Bejarano, Juanita (Jenny) Castaneda, Gilbert Zapata (Sylvia), Margarita (Margie) Trujillo (Arnold), and Herlinda (Linda) Atondo. She is survived by her five daughters: Felicia Payne, Valerie Guerra, Kristina Guerra, Carissa Reyna (Jesus), and Deborah Guerra. She truly loved being a grandmother to her 15 grandchildren: Eric and Jeremy Payne; Andre, Jordan, and Alex Guerra, Junior Martinez (Pallbearers) and Jessica Martinez; Jose, Patricia, Cynthia, and Jesse Fuentes; Janelle Brown and Cielo Reyna; and Alexis Molina and Nicholas Guerra. Her great-grandchildren are Andre and A'dryan Guerra; Daizee Munoz and Andretti Guerra; Mason Fuentes and Jesus Verdugo; and Irene Zazueta.

Viewing will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Yuma Mortuary with the Rosary commencing at 7:00 pm. Mass will be on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Indian Mission. Her burial will follow Mass at Johnson Desert Lawn at 12:30 pm. A Celebration of Life will be at 1118 Madison Avenue after burial.

Rosa was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
