Mr. Hassler was born Dec. 28, 1871, in Bloomington and resided here with exception of a few years. His widow, Kathryn L. Hassler survives, together with three sons, Charles E. and Winfield. of Chicago and Warren B. of Bloomington; two brothers, John of Bloomington and Warren of Cedar Rapids and a sister. Miss Clara of Bloomington.
The last 15 years Mr. Hassler has been connected with the Curtis candy company and was widely known among Bloomington merchants.
For some time in his earlier years Mr. Hassler served as assistant city clerk. His father served as city clerk for a number of years.
