John Charles Adams, 95, of Paris, Illinois, passed from this earth at 3:10 a.m. Monday, April 09, 2018, at Paris Healthcare Center. He was retired after farming for several years and working over sixteen years for the Edgar County Highway Department. He had also worked as an equipment operator for Feutz Construction and as a bus driver for Crestwood School District.

He was born February 10, 1923 on the family farm, Elm Lawn, outside of Paris, Illinois. He is the son of the late Allyn J. and Mary E. (Dodd) Adams Sr. He married Dorothy Jean Pinnell on April 28, 1944, at the First Christian Church in Decatur, Illinois. She preceded him in death on November 19, 2008.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Beth (La Verne) Debatin of Robinson, Illinois; a son, Edward (Marie) Adams of Cookville, Tennessee; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Allyn J. Adams Jr. of Paris, Illinois; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Pinnell of Charleston, Illinois, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nancy Adams and two sisters, Marjorie Ellyn Slater and Virginia Dickenson.

Mr. Adams was a member of Lake Ridge Christian Church in Paris, the Scottish Rite, and was also a member of Prairie Masonic Lodge #77 for 58 years. Johnny enjoyed fishing. After retirement, he and his wife, Dorothy, spent several winters in Pine Island, Florida.
