Gary E. Galliher, age 78 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, April 08, 2018, at his residence in Highland, IL.
He was born on January 08, 1940, in Alton, IL, the son of Floyd E. and Marie S. (nee Isaac) Galliher.
On May 20, 1970, he married Glenda H. Beil, nee Schlotman at O'Fallon, IL. She passed away on May 14, 2004.
He was a member of Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge #14 AF & AM, Sonoma, CA.
Gary was born in Alton, Illinois, where he grew up and graduated from Alton High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force 1959-1967. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal while providing military support while stationed in Thailand. During his military career he was stationed in Texas, California, Panama Canal Zone, Delaware and Thailand. After his Honorable Discharge from the military, he worked at Scott AFB from 1967-1984 as a Civil Engineering Technician, and subsequently he became a Contracting Officer. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Park University, Missouri in 1976, and a Master's of Business Administration from SIU-Edwardsville in 1979. He lived for a while in Mascoutah 1967-1968, then moved to O'Fallon and lived there 1968-1973, then moved with his family to Highland from 1973-1984. He moved to Maryland and lived there 1985-1999. He moved to South Florida and lived there 1999-2007. Arrived back in Illinois in 2007 and lived in Mascoutah until 2009, when he moved back to Highland. He was employed by and retired from the Motorola Corporation, 1967-2001. Subsequently, he worked for the Bechtel Corporation, 2002-2009; then worked part time at the Highland Motomart 2009-2013, and has been fully retired ever since. He liked model planes; was an Amazon shopper and loved electronics - adapted very, very well to the computer world.

Celebration of Gary's life will be held at a later date.
Interment will be at Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery in Valley City, ND.
