Crucita Otero, 94, of Mountainair, NM passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. Crucita was born May 3, 1912 in Pinos Well, NM to Leandro and Anita (Chavez) Salas. Crucita married Eusebio Otero who preceded her in death in 1967. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lupe Padilla; Maggie Salas and brother, Tony Salas. Crucita was a member of the Sacred Heart Society, the Alter Society and varies other organizations associated with St. Alice Catholic Church. She also served in city elections. Crucita is survived by her sons, Neddie and wife Melba Otero; Raymond and wife Julie Otero; Edward Otero; Chris Otero; Robert Otero; Ernie Otero; daughters, Margaret and husband Sid Padilla; Alice Otero; brother, Toby and wife Nellie Salas; sister, Lou Lopez; 24 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, NM with the Mass following. Father Ron Stone will be officiating. Internment will follow at the Mountainair Catholic Cemetery in Mountainair, NM. Pallbearers will be Neddie Otero, Raymond Otero, Edward Otero, Chris Otero, Robert Otero and Sid Padilla.
