Mr. Akins was born July 16, 1968 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Delmar L. Wilson and the late Anne Eileen Dougan Wilson. She was of the Holiness faith and of the Native American descent. Gena enjoyed Native American “Pow Wows”, singing and going to church.
Survivors include her husband, Rayford Harold Akins; daughter, Kari Anne Wilson; step-daughter, Hope L. Cooley; two step-sons, Lamar Keith Akins and Bryan Perry Akins; two sisters, Grace Wilson and Christina A. Sweeney; and a brother, Delmar J. Wilson.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life for Mrs. Akins on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12 noon at The Church of God of the Union Assembly with Rev. Jesse Starnes officiating.
