George Michael Phillips, age 71, of Charlotte, TN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home, on April 9, 2018. “Mike” was born on August 26, 1946, in Nashville, TN, to George E. Phillips, and L. Jean Irvin Phillips. Mike lived his life with dedication, love, and service, to God, Country, Family, and Friends. During his service to our great nation in Vietnam, he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor for his bravery in battle. Mike was an amazing husband, loving father, and a real-life superhero to his grandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Brenda Bean, Barbara Phillips, and Teresa Hardin; nephews, Jimbo McMullen, Steve Martinez, Dustin Hardin, and David Horn. Mike is survived by his wife of 34 years, Connie Phillips; daughters, Michelle (Shawn) Mullins, Mellanie (Jimmy) Bush, Mellisa (Ashley) Phillips; sisters, Judy Martinez, Cathy Tidwell, and Cecilia McMillin; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Shawn Mullins, Jimmy Bush, Michael Mullins, Zachary Mullins, Tucker Finch, and Marshall Finch will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held with the Rosary service at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home with celebration of life service. Interment will follow at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery
