Madaline Scott, 98, of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of Rices Landing, Pa., passed away at 3:40 P.M. on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in her home. She was born December 26, 1921 in Barbour County, W. Va., a daughter of the late Charles O. and Florence E. (Cornwell) Knotts. As a young woman, she committed her life to the Lord as shown by her faith and devotion to her family. Mrs. Scott was a member of the former Fairdale Free Methodist Church and resided in of Cumberland Township, Greene County since 1952. She read every day, was knowledgeable in many subjects and was known for her great spelling ability even though she only went to the eighth grade. Mrs. Scott also enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking and gardening. She truly cherished her family and friends. On May 20, 1936, she married Joel Newton Scott, who died June 4, 1999. In her younger years, she assisted her husband with the family farm.

Surviving are a son, Elbert Joel Scott (Patricia) of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Shelva Jean Clutter of Waynesburg, Pa. and Elizabeth Kurincak (Bernard) with whom she made her home in Carmichaels; seven grandchildren, Angela Thomas, Bernie Kurincak, Jr. (Donna), Debra Maraney (Jim), Brenda Ferek (Ron), Carol Jean Kerr (Jeff), Trish Martof (Larry) and David Joel Scott (Eunice); 16 great grandchildren, Ian Thomas, Claire Thomas, Joey Kurincak, Shastina Humble (Ben), Tony Maraney, Alexandra Mundell (Josh), Aubree Ferek, Joel "Stushu" Ferek, Brian Ferek (Marta), Krysta Murray (Ken), Shayna Kerr, Greg Kerr, Stephanie Milosovic (Greg), Carrie Martof, Dax Scott and Elya Scott; seven great great grandchildren, Eli Humble, Olivia Noelle Humble, Landon Milosovic, Ethan Milosovic, Corrie Ferek, Shawn Murray and Luke Murray and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are an infant son, Isaac Charles Scott and three brothers, Odale Knotts, Kenneth Knotts and Norris Knotts.

Due to current CDC guidelines, funeral arrangements are private.

Interment will take place at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a local volunteer fire company of the donor's choice.
