Adkins, Gary F. 73 of Rockville, went to be with his heavenly father on Thursday, March 29, 2018. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Samuel and Redith Adkins, a stepdaughter, Tracy wright and a sister Wanda Ames. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Clara Elaine Adkins, a stepdaughter, Julie & Andy Halsey and two grandsons, Tristen and Aden, his mother-in-law, "Grandma" Mary Fincher a sister Brenda Adkins and her husband Gary Johnson, two brothers Roy Adkins and Paul Adkins and his wife Shirley Rook. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was a very loving and devoted husband, stepfather and friend. Gary worked for many years at E.R. Carpenter & Co., he then became the co-owner of Liberty Valance Restaurant for another 17 years. Gary was a hard working man, he loved to work and fix just about anything outdoors. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 at 12 noon in the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home 112020 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. "God has called home a wonderful and faithful servant, but he will be missed by those left behind."
