Mr. Gibson was born on Dec. 27, 1930, in Manassa, Colo., and his family moved to Portland when he was a youngster. In 1968, he married Carol Johnson, and they had lived in Forest Grove since that time.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and in the U.S. Army Reserve for three years after the war.
Mr. Gibson had owned and operated a service station in Hillsboro and also had served in the Hillsboro Police Department. He retired in 1989 after 26 years of service as a bus driver for Tri-Met.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his wife; brothers, Glenn of Portland, Grant of Hillsboro and Verdell of California; and sisters, Corolene Graham and Ethel Jones, both of Portland, and Velma Cole of New Mexico.
Funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday, May 4, 1992 in the Forest Grove Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial was in Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro.
