Joseph M. Danielson was born near Newark, Licking County, Ohio to Jared and Mary (Ehrnman) Danielson. According to the 1860 and 1870 censuses, the family lived and farmed in Eden Township, Licking County, Ohio. By 1880, his parents had moved to a farm in Scotland Township, McDonough County, Illinois. Joseph married Agnes Shafer on 5 November, 1885 in Holden, Johnson County, Missouri (Missouri Marriage Records, 1805-2002). Joseph died 13 April, 1899 at 21 W. Vine, Canton, Illinois at the age of 48; He was buried Apr 15, 1899 in the Greenwood Cemetery. (Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home Records)
