James "Jim" Henry Bistline, age 85, of Spring Grove and formerly of Landisburg was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Church of God Home, a Stone Ridge Retirement Living Community in Carlisle. Born July 16, 1932, in Landisburg, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Clara (Waggoner) Bistline. He worked for Sail Conservation in New Bloomfield until his retirement and as a farmer. He was a member of the New Hope United Church of Christ in Landisburg, Perry County Historical Society and the Perry Historians.
He is preceded in death by his two wives Fern (McMillen) Bistline and Barbara (Haller) Bistline. Jim loved working out doors on the farm and on the mountain in the woods at Mount Dempsey. He worked in his sawmill sawing trees which he had cut down on Mount Dempsey. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Jim liked researching old pictures donated to the Perry County Historians and the people's names in the pictures. He enjoyed helping with the Apple Butter Boil at Little Buffalo. He liked to organize his graduating class reunion every five years and attending the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. He is survived by two daughters Barbara Lee Crawford and her husband David of Spring Grove, Kandy Ann Klacik and her husband Thomas of Springfield, VA, a brother Joseph W. Bistline of Carlisle, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his wives and parents he is preceded in the recent death of his brother Kenneth M. Bistline.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service which will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Nickel-Lochstampfor Family Funeral Home, Inc., 3626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville, PA 17047. Interment to follow at the Landisburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made in Jims memory to the Perry County Historical Society, P.O. Box 81, Newport, PA 17074.Jae
