Tom C. Caperton, age 68, died on Monday, April 16, 2018. Tom was born on June 2, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Billy Caperton and Wanda (Crouch) Caperton.

He was a proud Eagle Scout. After graduation from South Oak Cliff High School, he served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army Military Police. In 1972, he joined the Irving Police Department and rose to the rank of Captain; while there, he earned his bachelor's and masters' degrees from ACU Dallas. He then went on to serve as Chief of the Grapevine Police Department. He was president of Caperton Enterprises. Tom was chairman of the La Cima Board of Governors and served as treasurer of the Entertainment Series of Irving. He was an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are wife Patty Landers Caperton; son Tim Caperton and wife Pam; daughter Dr. Jennifer Caperton; brother Wes Caperton and wife Janice; grandson Collins Caperton; four nephews and their families; numerous cousins and other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 7:00 -9:00 PM at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with an internment on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Irving Police Athletic League designated towards the new building fund, www.irvingpals.org and to the Boy Scouts of America, www.scouting.org
