Frances Elizabeth Abbott

Born July 10, 1922 in Marietta, Ohio to the late William E. and Lula Bush Abbott, Frances E. Abbott died January 2, 2018.

She moved to Akron in 1928 and completed her education at Akron Public Schools.
A teacher, she retired from the Akron Board of Education in 1983 with over 35 years of service.
Frances was a very active member of Park United Methodist Church, where she served in many leadership roles.

She was predeceased by her brother, Clifford Eugene Abbott; and sister, Maxine Shaffer.

She is survived by sister-in-law, Geraldine Abbott; three nephews, David (Laura) Abbott, Philip
(Denise) Abbott and Douglas Shaffer; two nieces, Nancy (George) Blind and Susan (Michael) Gooch; also 3 great nieces, 1 great nephew, 2 great-great nephews and 1 great-great niece.

Rev. Pam Buzalka will officiate funeral services 10:30am Saturday, January 6 at Park United Methodist Church, 2308 24th Street SW Akron,OH 44314, where friends may call one hour prior to service time.
Private interment at Greenlawn Cemetery.
