Ratliff Family Cemetery located at Long Branch Road, Kimper Ky. Wade Ratliff, age 83, of Kimper, KY passed away at Pikeville Medical Center April 5, 2010. Wade was born to the late Richard Wade Ratliff and Mary Elizabeth Smith Ratliff January 20, 1927. Wade had been a member of many organizations such as the Stone Masonic Lodge, Shriners, United Mine Workers Association, as well as a veteran of World War Two. Wade attended the Peter Creek Primitive Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Wade was preceded in death by both parents Richard and Mary Ratliff; four brothers Phil, Will (Buck), Monis, and Hollis Ratliff; two sisters Quellia Belcher and Agnes Trimble; and one Grand Child Joseph (Joey) Ratliff. Left to mourn his passing is his loving devoted wife Clara Marie Blackburn Ratliff; one son Richard Wade of Kimper Ky; four daughters Sheila (Bruce) Roberts of Belfry Ky, Karen Sue (Ravine) Ratliff of Ferrells Creek Ky, Marcia (Steve) Ratliff Elswick of Meta Ky, and Sharon Denise (Denny Paul) Burchett of Scott Depot, W.V.; one sister Reba West of Mouthcard Ky. Wade also survived by nine grandchildren, Wade Ratliff, Kristie Adkins, Rachael Ratliff Lemghaili, Peyton Roberts, Jason Elswick, Jeremy Ratliff, Joshua Elswick, and Bradley Burgett ; fifteen great- grandchildren David Ratliff, Erika Ratliff, Zachary Ratliff, Morgan Ratliff, Timmy Todd Adkins, Madison Adkins, Ronnie Wayne Justice, Logan Bishop, Ben Adkins, Sara Elswick, Emma Elswick, Brady Roberts, Sadie Elswick, Layla Lemghaili, and Samantha Ratliff.
Visitation will start Tuesday April 6, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. with open visitation Wednesday April 7, 2010 with Services starting at 7:00 P.M. The funeral will be Thursday April 8, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Primitive Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow at the Ratliff Family Cemetery located at Long Branch Road, Kimper Ky.
