Robert Eugene “Bob” Armstrong Sr, age 88, of Lafayette, passed at away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his residence.

He was the son of the late William Samuel and Flora (Feldmeyer) Armstrong and was born on April 27, 1929 in Lafayette, IN. Bob proudly served in United States Army from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean War. He married Rosemary Wyant on June 6, 1958 and she survives. Bob retired in 1993 from Staley’s in the utilities department and previously was employed at Peerless Wire for thirteen years. He was a member of the American Legion.

Bob is survived by his wife; one son; three daughters; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Armstrong and Edward Armstrong; and sisters, Margaret Armstrong, Betty Baker, Agnes Erwin and Marjorie Syrotynski.

Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior to the ceremony on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette. Celebrant Theresa Fischer will officiate. Entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette with military honors.
