Obituary for George "Alfred" Boyd
George Alfred Boyd, age 95 died April 16th 2018.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Janie Brown Boyd.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Muriel and Jerry Gable of Ellijay, GA; son and daughter-in-law George and Lisa Boyd of Sharpsburg, GA; grandson, Jeff and Beverly Gable of Roswell, GA; grandson, Philip and Sara Gable and great-grandson, Captain Gable of Brooklyn, NY, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Boyd joined the Army in 1942 and served in the China, Burma, India Theater during World War II. He was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company (later BellSouth and then AT&T) after 46 years of service.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2 o'clock at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
