Broadus “Brody” Nolan Sharpe, 86, passed away on August 6, 2016 from a heart ailment. Brody was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama, April 3, 1930.

The family moved to Memphis, TN where he graduated from Humes High School and Memphis State University. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He worked 10 years for The Memphis Publishing Co as a District Manager followed by 30 years as a General Agent for several Life Insurance Agencies.

Brody was an avid sailor. For 25 years he raced a 19 foot lightning sailboat at Arkabutla Lake, Ms, where he was a member of the Delta Sailing Club.

He met and married his high school classmate, Mary Helen Ramsey Sharpe in 1995. They brought two families together. They were members of Hermitage United Methodist church where he and Mary Helen were active in Sunday School and other church activities. Brody would like to be remembered for his devotion to the Lord and his word.

Brody is preceded in death by his parents and six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen, sister, Wilma Jensen, Memphis TN, daughters, Lynn (Gary) Oakley of Senatobia, MS, Jane (Mark) Olson, of Clarksville, TN, Sherry (Chuck) White of McKinney, TX, Linda (Bob) Ingram, Lynchburg, VA, Dianne (Mark) Ross of Little Rock, AR. Together they have 11 grandchildren Michael Smith, Andrew Oakley, T Robert Oakley, Robert Olson, Elizabeth Olson, Tanner Miller, Sarah Rees, Jonathan Sledge, Valerie Waskey, Brain Ross, Jennifer Odom, and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 10 AM at Hermitage United Methodist Church on August 8, 2016 with services following at 11:00 A.M.

On Tuesday, August 9, 2016 visitation will be at 12 Noon at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery in Memphis, TN with a service following at 1:00 P.M. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hermitage United Methodist Church, 205 Belinda Drive, Hermitage, TN 37076 or Gentiva Hospice, 1400 Donelson Pike, Suite B-5, Nashville, TN 37217
