OBITUARY
Jacob E. Reeves, aged 81 years, 7 months, and 4 days, was born near Munice, Ind, Aug 9th, 1854. At the age of three, his parents moved to Henry county, Ill, near Galesburg, where he grew to manhood. In 1875, he, with his parents, moved to Taylor county, Iowa, near Lenox. February 5, 1882, he married to Mary E. Norman at Conway, Iowa. In 1909, he moved to Pettis county, near Sedalia, Mo, living there until 1912, when he moved to Monticello, Drew county, Arkansas, moving to West Plains, November 2, 1919, where he lived until his death, March 13, 1936. / He is survived by one son, Charles I. Reeves, of West Plains; three brothers, J.M. Reeves of Arvada, Colo, Sam Reeves of St George, Utah, Albert A Reeves of Des Moines, Iowa, and one sister, Hattie Wade of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by three sons, who died in infancy, seven brothers and sisters and his wife who died February 2, 1923. / Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in West Plains, with the Rev. Joe Willard in charge, assisted by the Rev. B.V. Powell. Interment was at Oak Lawn cemetery, at the side of his wife. A quartet under the direction of Mr. Ralph Benningfield sang at the services. Pall bearers were Frank Bacon, John Malcolm, Church Clark, Pink Lile, the Rev. Engleman and T. M. Renfrow.
