The Gadsden Times, Tuesday, July 5, 1966, front page: Two Area Women Died in Crash. Two young women residents of Gadsden area were killed yesterday afternoon on Highway 331, 18 miles north of Luverne. Killed were Mrs. Jerry Lamar Davis, 17, Wright Circle, Rainbow City and Mrs. Sam Houston Davis, 18, Goodyear Circle, East Gadsden. The husbands of the two young women were taken to hospitals in Montgomery and Greenville.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Houston Davis, Gadsden; daughter, Tammy Davis, Gadsden; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Bellew, Gadsden; brother, Elbert D. Bellew, Gadsden; James R. Bellew, California; sisters, Mrs. Delores Aultman, Mrs. Linda Gail Cornelius; Misses Neil, Vickey and Jerrie Bellew, Gadsden; Mrs. Joyce Kelley, Attalla; grandmother, Mrs. Essie Bellew, Gadsden. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday at North Gadsden Baptist Church and burial in Forrest Cemetery. Mrs. Davis was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County and member of North Gadsden Baptist Church. Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Phronsia was buried in the Davis family plot alongside Mary Colley Davis and James Madison Davis, Jr. Mary and J.M. were parents of Sam H. and Jerry L. Davis who were injured in an auto accident in Luverne, Alabama and where the sons lost both of their wives, Phronsia and Elizabeth Ann, in the collision. Elizabeth Ann Hall Davis' obituary mentions she was buried in Rainbow Memorial Gardens.
