George first married Minnie Burger in 1882 in Stearns County, Minnesota. She died in 1899 in California.

George B. Cleveland died at his home southeast of Sauk Centre at 10 am Friday, November 29. He was born July 18, 1857, in [Wayne] county, Michigan. In 1867 he came to Minnesota with his parents, the family settling in Sauk Centre.
George Cleveland was twice married, his first wife dying in California 12 years ago. Four years ago he married again. His second wife survives him. There are three children living by his first wife, one son and two daughters. Two children, both girls were the fruit of the second marriage. They are both living.
Mr. Cleveland was a half brother of David Cleveland of this city. There is a full brother who is somewhere in the west, but whose present whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Cleveland lived in Sauk Centre part of the time and part of the time on his farm five miles from town.
