Geneva Booker, passed away October 7, 2003 after suffering a major stroke two weeks earlier. Mrs. Booker was born Geneva Estel Tylson on August 20, 1913 to Cylas and Lilly Tyson near Erick, Oklahoma. Geneva grew up near Mangum, Oklahoma where she met and married Ray Booker, October 3, 1931. Geneva and Ray raised their family on farms near Antlers, OK and briefly on farms in Oregon and Idaho. They moved to Stillwater in 1956 where their children attended the Stillwater schools and Oklahoma State University. Mr. and Mrs. Booker spent their retirement at Grand Lake, Lake Eufaula and Drumright. After Ray’s death in 1991, Geneva listed in Oklahoma City until her death. Mrs. Booker was a lifelong and devote member of the Baptist Church in all of the communities where she lived. She was a tireless supporter of youth activities in the church where she was widely known and loved for the strength and purity of her character, her caring for others and her cheerful outlook. Her Christian faith has made her a prime example of how to live a beautiful life and how to leave life with grace, nobility and caring. Mrs. Booker was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Booker; and great-granddaughter, Sabrina Cline. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 10 at the Guardian West Funeral Chapel in Oklahoma City. The interment will be at the Haskell Cemetery, Haskell, OK at 3:30 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Oklahoma League For The Blind.
