Jane Lynn Hamrick Malone, 78, formerly of Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 9:35 p.m. in the English Meadow Care Home in Bedford, VA, following an extended illness.

She was born in Webster Springs, WV, on May 17, 1939, a daughter of the late Emmitt and Lessie Hamrick.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Raymond Malone, on March 29, 1990.

She is survived by two sons, Eric Malone and wife Angelina of Clarksburg, and Paul Malone and wife Suzanne of Lynchburg, VA; seven grandchildren, Dr. Joseph Malone and wife Dr. Leah Malone, Ashley Malone Archilla and husband Luis, Anna Malone, “Caty “Malone, Alexis Malone, Jackson Malone and Jennifer Malone; one step great-grandchild Alexandra Archilla; and three brothers, Jackson Hamrick and wife Vai of Shinnston, WV, Jerry Hamrick and wife Tonya of Bergoo, WV, and John Hamrick of Webster Springs, WV.

Jane graduated from Webster Springs High School and continued her education at the St. Mary’s School of Nursing and graduated in 1960 as a R.N. She retired from the William R. Sharpe Hospital and formerly worked for Fairmont General Hospital, and Dr. Palmer Dermatology.

Jane attended Emmanuel Baptist Church, and was active with the St. Mary’s School of Nursing Alumni. She also volunteered at the Louis A. Johnson VA Hospital for many years, and was a Hospice Nurse.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WV on Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Reverend Jim Sanders presiding.

Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
