An old and respected resident of Wahgunyah in the person of Mr Frederick Beers pasted over to the great majority on Thursday evening last, the cause of death being cancer and general break-up of the system For some time he was a patient at Dr O'Hara's and St Vincent's Hospitals, but being pronounced incurable returned to Wahgunyah about a fortnight ago.
Deceased, at the time of his death was 58 years of age and leaves a widow and a family of four daughters and one son to mourn their loss, for whom deep sympathy is expressed. The funeral took place on Saturday, the remains being interred in the Corowa old cemetery. The Rev Father Hickey read the burial service, and Mr C Clayton had charge of the mortuary arrangements.
