Larry, a loving and loved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, was born June 28, 1924, to William Karl and Marie Margurita (Wolter) Becker in Doon, IA. He grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Wadena High School in 1942. Lawrence served honorably in the United States Army from 1949 to 1951 during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Irene E. Sachan October 7, 1950, at Deer Creek, MN. They moved to Hot Springs in 1959 and enjoyed raising their family, working and the many wonderful friends that they have.

Larry's work ethic and personality brought him a variety of jobs in his life. He built silos, worked as a stone mason, delivered fuel in the Twin Cities, and trained for the railroad before he was drafted. After returning from the Army, he drove semi-trucks, was a meat-cutter in Minnesota and South Dakota. In Hot Springs, Larry was a meat cutter for several grocers, a milk- man for Brown Swiss, school bus driver for the school system and also worked at the lumber store in town. Larry enjoyed his family and home, serving his church, spending time on the lake, camping and all his woodworking projects.

The latter part of his life was under the wonderful care of staff at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs. Larry encountered many medical challenges in his later years and was always able to come thru them with the support of the medical community.

He is survived by his wife, a son, four daughters, 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a brother, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
