He was born in New Albany and was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was an Engineer for more than 38 years for the Ford Motor Company, was a very active volunteer for AARP, was a graduate and huge fan of Purdue University and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Winifred Holz, his first wife: Jo Ann Christensen Holz, and 2 brothers: William and Arthur Holz.
Survivors include: His wife: Thelma Jecker Holz, His son: Robert G. Holz Jr., His daughter: Heiter Ann Roy, 5 Grandchildren, 3 step-sons and 7 step-daughters.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 11 AM Wednesday May 2, 2018 at the First Assembly of God Church (2778 Charlestown Rd.) with burial in SCI-Graceland Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville (1846 E. Oak St.) from 2 – 8 PM Tuesday and from 10 – 11 AM Wednesday at the church before the service.
Memorial Contributions may be given to the First Assembly of God Church Youth Group.
