Kathleen Ellen Aakre, age 58, of Winthrop, formerly of Chaska, passed away on Sunday, February 28th, 2016, in Plymouth. Celebration of Life is on Saturday, March 5th, 2:00 pm, with family receiving friends starting at 1:00 pm, all at the Chaska Moravian Church, 115 4th St E., Chaska.
Kathy was born on September 12, 1957, in Plymouth, MN to Arthur and Mildred (Hollenberg) Larson. She was one of seven children.
On June 23rd, 1979, Kathleen married Theodore Aakre in Minneapolis. They had five children.
Kathy was an amazing woman, a devoted christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She poured her life into her family by staying home and running an in-home daycare while her children were young and eventually home schooling her younger daughters. She delighted in teaching her children and grandchildren over the years and showing them all the wonders that they could discover in the world.
Kathy's family would like to express our deep appreciation to everyone who has helped Kathy through her journey over the past six years. We have been blessed beyond measure to know each and every one of you.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 37 years, daughters, son, mother, five sisters, four grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a son, Anthony Paul and her father, Arthur Larson.
