HELEN MARIE STEPHENS DILLARD
(Age 91)
Of Montgomery Village, Maryland passed from this life on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Sunrise Montgomery Village Assisted Living Facility in Montgomery Village, MD.
Born on January 9, 1927, in Birmingham, AL, the daughter of the late George Wilbur [sic] Stephens and Myrtle (Morehead) Stephens, she was the last of seven children who preceded her in death: George Wilbur, Claudin, James, Dorothy, Robert and Evelyn. She was predeceased by her husband Major General Oliver "Ollie" W. Dillard, US Army retired, in 2015 and survived by her children and grandchildren: Oliver Jr, (Jo), Stephen (Trina), Dennis (Jan) and Diane (Lonnie) Broadnax. She was a devoted grandmother to Nathan Dillard, Ellen Dillard, Stephana Dillard-Macioch, Nicholas Dillard, Anthony Dillard, Jasmine Broadnax, and Anika Broadnax.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Christian Life Center, 3154 Green Valley Rd., Ijamsville, MD 21754; a celebration of Helen's journey will follow at 1pm. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a later date.
