Faith "Chippi" Grindle Bailey, 76, of South Charleston, passed away on April 17, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond, VA.

Faith was born in Westernport, MD and attended Bruce High School. She later attended West Virginia Wesleyan College where she met the love of her life, Robert Lee "Beetle" Bailey. They married and had two children and lived a full life in South Charleston. Faith was active in her church at both Darlington United Methodist Church and St. Timothy's Lutheran Church. She spearheaded the vacation bible school at Darlington church for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at her children's school, Village Elementary, and taught French to 5th graders as a hobby. Faith enjoyed gardening, singing, painting, and drying and arranging flowers. She was on many church committees through the years and was a devout Christian. Her faith guided her through every aspect of her life and may she rest in the loving arms of her God for eternity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ann and John Grindle of Westernport Maryland; brother, John (stillborn).

Faith is survived by her children, Robert Lee Bailey II, of Houston, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth "LeeAnn" Smullen, of Richmond, VA; grandchildren Chase and Brock Smullen; sister, Joanna Shaw of St. Albans, WV; niece, Barbi Shaw (Pat); nephews, Timothy Shaw and Robert John Shaw.

A service to Honor the Life of Faith will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, South Charleston, with Pastor Jamie Strickler officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
