WOODHULL - Shirley A. Norberg, 78, Woodhull, died Monday, April 30, 2018, at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at St. John's Catholic Church in Woodhull. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Memorials may be left to St. John's Catholic Church or the family and online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.
She was born Nov. 24, 1939, in rural Lebanon, Kentucky, to Sherman and Rebecca Spaulding Raley. She attended the local Catholic school in Kentucky and the Galva schools. She married Roger D. Norberg on April 7, 1956, in Galva.
Shirley was a homemaker. Her memberships include St. John's Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and the Red Hat Society.
She enjoyed baking, reading and watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and L.A. Dodgers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Roger; one daughter, Rita (Greg) Suddreth of Queen Creek, Arizona; three sons, Steve (Gaye) Norberg of Alpha, Mike Norberg of Tempe, Arizona, and David (Danielle) Norberg of Grayslake; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Stella Gilbreth and Sharon Milliken, both of Galva; three brothers, Sherman Raley of Galva, Thomas Raley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Joseph Raley of Pearl City, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Ann Marie Kuebler; and three sisters, Kathy Thompson, Cora Burwell and Rebecca Holmes.
