ARTHURETTA A. CAREY
Arthuretta A. Carey, 95, of Clarksfield , died Saturday at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. Born in Oak Harbor, she was a graduate of Woodville High School and had lived in Clarksfield for more than 60 years.
She worked for the state of Ohio as a caretaker at the former roadside rest stop in Clarksfield. Mrs Carey was a member Of the Clarksfield Methodist Church and United Methodist Women's Group. She was a 4-H advisor for forty years and enjoyed sewing and reading. She had many pen pals from all over the world.
Survivors include daughters Barbra Stentz of Clarksfield, Ruth Nichols of Port Clinton, Phyliss Brown of Shelby and Magaret Graves of Wakeman; a son Ronald Carey of Clarksfield; a stepdaughter; Nina Barwick of Ann Arbor, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Johnson of Williston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents, Irving and Louise ( nee Kruse ) Taulker; a daughter, Louise; stepdaughters Nora Bowman and Nellie Vargo; stepsons Clarence, Gearld and Leslie Carey; a grandson; a great granddaughter; sisters Althea Taulker, Sylvain Timmons and Elizabeth Ory; and a brother, Bill Taulker
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Thursday at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, where services will be 11 a. m Friday. The Rev. Patricia Sheldon, pastor of Clarksfield Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wakeman Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Clarksfield United Methodist Church.
